OUR PARKWOODS HOUSE LEAGUE OFFERS:

Weekly practices run by the team coaches for all age divisions;
All Novice divisions games will be played under the three-minute buzzer format, where each shift is three consecutive minutes (run time) in length;
All games (except Novice) line changes are made “on the fly”;
In younger divisions, teams are expected to rotate players in goal (where applicable) so each player can experience playing the goalie position for at least one game. The coach and bench staff will assign a goalie schedule for every player to each week;
House League games are forty-eight minutes in length;
Games are played on Saturdays with the younger players on the ice first thing in the morning and progressing through the late afternoon for the older players; and
Games are played using a full ice surface in all age groups (except those in the Tyke and Novice Initiation Programs).

Visit our Parkswoods House League tab from the home page to get a glimpse of what playing at Parkwoods looks like.

The FIRST SHIFT program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. We want families to experience the game at its best — to understand why so many Canadians feel an inherent love for the sport, and to stimulate a desire for continued participation. We want to take away any intimidation as it relates to equipment requirements, and/or rules of the game, remove potential safety concerns, and most importantly, provide an experience that is memorable and fun.

Details about the program will be posted shortly.

Hello Parkwoods families,
We hope that you are all remaining safe and enjoying the warmer weather.

The GTHL has released its plans for the return to hockey in 2021-22. Based on this, we expect to start our house league season just after Thanksgiving as usual. The restart will depend on public health guidance but we are hopeful that the trends will continue in the right direction. In advance, the GTHL will release its Game Plan 2.0 which will outline the health and safety protocols to protect all our participants. You can read the GTHL’s announcement at the following link below for the 2021-22 Return to Play – GTHL (gthlcanada.com).

Parkwoods’ registration for next season will open in mid-June. We will notify you when it opens.

It is a ways off, but we are looking forward to getting all our players back on the ice!

Yours in hockey,
PARKWOODS HOCKEY LEAGUE
