We hope that all our families are well, staying safe and surviving online learning.

As noted in our last email, under the current rules, the GTHL will allow leagues to resume activities when their region enters the Ontario government’s Orange “Restrict” Level. At the time, the GTHL also had plans to meet in early January to review the situation and determine if / when the season may regrettably have to be cancelled.

The GTHL Board continues to monitor the evolving circumstances of the pandemic. We have been advised that the City of Vaughan has made the decision to remove the ice from its facilities. We are waiting for further information from the City of Toronto and the City of the Markham, and remain in contact with the staff at the City of Mississauga.

As you are aware, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is currently working on plans for the 2021-22 season. They have extended the ability for organizations to operate for the 2020-21 season until May 31, 2021. At this point, the Board has not made any changes to its decision whereby GTHL organizations can return to activity if and when the Public Health Unit in which the organization operates returns to the provincial Orange level. We continue to monitor this on a daily basis and will update you as further information becomes available.

We will keep you posted on new developments and hope to see all our players soon.
