Olivia Ness Would Love Your Support

Olivia Ness is not only an accomplished hockey player going into her 8th year at Parkwoods, but she is a going to be doing a Swim for the Cure down the Severn River on July 20th from Swift Rapids to Big Chute. The distance is 13 km. It is a relay and the minimum she will swim is 5k. Right now she is training and wants to try to swim the entire 13k. Olivia is 12 years old, only 4’8" and about 70lbs! She is taking this very seriously and we are very proud of her. This is an open water swim on a busy waterway, not in the comfort of a pool. They start at 6am and finish between 12-1pm or longer, it is a huge commitment.

It’s for a great cause and we are hoping you will support Olivia and her swim. We appreciate any donation – it all helps!

You can also find information at Swim for the Cure Severn River:

Thank you in advance for your donation and support for a great cause.

Parkwoods held its 3rd annual Winter Classic at Broadlands outdoor rink during January and February 2013. This followed on from the highly successful Winter Classics in 2011 and 2012, also at Broadlands outdoor rink.

As with previous seasons, every House League team participated in the event this year.

Thanks very much to Brad Brinton and many others for organizing this event.

Parkwoods held its first ever Select Alumni game on Saturday, March 30 at Fenside Arena, with the “1992” Stars battling the “1994” Stars. It was great to welcome back some of the old Stars. A great time was had by all.

Thanks very much to Barbara Philips for organizing the event.
