2021/2022 Hockey Season

Posted by Parkwoods Hockey League at May 25, 2021 7:49AM PDT

Hello Parkwoods families,
We hope that you are all remaining safe and enjoying the warmer weather.

The GTHL has released its plans for the return to hockey in 2021-22. Based on this, we expect to start our house league season just after Thanksgiving as usual. The restart will depend on public health guidance but we are hopeful that the trends will continue in the right direction. In advance, the GTHL will release its Game Plan 2.0 which will outline the health and safety protocols to protect all our participants. You can read the GTHL’s announcement at the following link below for the 2021-22 Return to Play – GTHL (

Parkwoods’ registration for next season will open in mid-June. We will notify you when it opens.

It is a ways off, but we are looking forward to getting all our players back on the ice!

Yours in hockey,

International Women’s Day

Parkwoods Hockey League was one of the first hockey leagues in the city to become coed. Today girls and young women play in our house league and select programs throughout our divisions. In honour of International Women’s Day, we celebrate all our female players. We also thank all the women who support our game and our community as refs, timekeepers, coaches, managers, and fundraisers. You all help make Parkwoods Hockey League the amazing hockey community it is!

Parkwoods 2020-2021 Season Update

Posted by Parkwoods Hockey League at Feb 28, 2021 5:59PM PST

Parkwoods families

The GTHL has released an update about the return to hockey. As previously communicated, the GTHL determined that organizations can return to play when their region enters the Orange “Restrict” level of the Ontario government’s COVID-19 response framework. The GTHL’s most recent communication confirms that they are continuing with this approach.

As you know, Toronto is currently under a stay at home order. It is unclear when we may reach the Orange “Restrict” Level.

The full GTHL update can be found at this link:

We will continue to share updates as we receive it.

Parkwoods Season Update

Posted by Parkwoods Hockey League at Jan 29, 2021 6:07PM PST

We hope that all our families are well, staying safe and surviving online learning.

As noted in our last email, under the current rules, the GTHL will allow leagues to resume activities when their region enters the Ontario government’s Orange “Restrict” Level. At the time, the GTHL also had plans to meet in early January to review the situation and determine if / when the season may regrettably have to be cancelled.

The GTHL Board continues to monitor the evolving circumstances of the pandemic. We have been advised that the City of Vaughan has made the decision to remove the ice from its facilities. We are waiting for further information from the City of Toronto and the City of the Markham, and remain in contact with the staff at the City of Mississauga.

As you are aware, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is currently working on plans for the 2021-22 season. They have extended the ability for organizations to operate for the 2020-21 season until May 31, 2021. At this point, the Board has not made any changes to its decision whereby GTHL organizations can return to activity if and when the Public Health Unit in which the organization operates returns to the provincial Orange level. We continue to monitor this on a daily basis and will update you as further information becomes available.

We will keep you posted on new developments and hope to see all our players soon.
